It is a goal of mine to always be growing. This applies both on a personal and a professional level. Learning new skills, new procedures, and new systems open doors that have allowed me to grow further. Also, it has given me a better understanding of my original core skills. For example, in my case I started with learning Computer Animation. I was then able to apply those skills into marketing where I learned SEO, Print, Photography, Video Production and Video Editing. This website is a great example of my acquired skills, learned programs, and applied methodologies.

Being adaptable is invaluable in this industry. Things can and will come up whether you need to rework a design mock-up for a conflicted client, your delivery date just got moved up, or your boss gives you a request for business cards for a new company started 10 min prior and is boarding a plane to meet clients across the US for said company. Thats a real story. Ask me about it, it has a happy ending. I've become very comfortable performing and adapting under strict deadlines.

I enjoy problem solving, puzzling, and error checking. It makes me ask questions like “why does this work/not work”, “can this process be improved”, “Why does line 1056 keep giving me an error”. That last one may be a little too specific, but I enjoy troubleshooting. It generally leads to a better understanding of how things work. When you fully understand something down to its code you tend not to have as many problems with operating it. This usually leads to faster, more efficient results.

I have enjoyed every minute spent within these fields of rigging, animating, modeling, graphic design, web design, marketing, print, video production. Each area is unique but principles can be shared between them all. I have pride in my work and I am motivated to learn and eager to start my next project. I surround myself with people that are driven and passionate. If you love what you do, immerse yourself in it. This is a very important quality I look for in jobs and new projects.

In my experience whether on a team or leading it, communication has played a vital role in the speed and efficiency at which things get done. Coming together and bouncing ideas off one another for new product launches, organizing conference calls to talk about a future catalog print between company branches, asking sales staff how they use software before building only what was asked have saved me hundreds of man-hours. I know I will not always have the best idea and I want to make sure I am aware of that and excited when someone has a better idea. That is a learning opportunity or new perspective I can consider in the future.
